The Packable Anorak, an enzymatically recycled polyester product from Lululemon, was unveiled in partnership with Samsara Eco, an Australian enviro-tech startup.
The creation of a circular environment and textile-to-textile recycling have advanced significantly as a result of this invention. Enzyme-based recycling and captured carbon emissions are combined by lululemon in a collaboration with Samsara Eco and LanzaTech to develop this high-performance jacket while maintaining its adored lightweight and quick-drying qualities.
Using a variety of materials, including mixed plastic waste and end-of-life clothing, The Packable Anorak exemplifies lululemon's commitment to circularity. The scalability of these technologies to manage textile waste across their supply chain is highlighted by Yogendra Dandapure, Vice President of Raw Materials Innovation at lululemon. Paul Riley, the CEO of Samsara Eco, highlights the possibility to transform the longevity of clothing and address the issue of fashion waste.
With this launch, lululemon is demonstrating that it is a leader in sustainable fashion and is committed to moving to 100% preferred materials and end-of-use solutions by 2030.
