Frito Lay recalls Sun Chips and other snacks due to Salmonella contamination

#Frito Lay is recalling certain snacks, including Sun Chips, across Canada due to potential Salmonella contamination.

The recall, announced by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, affects individual bags and cases of the products, which have long shelf lives. Consumers are advised to check and discard any #recalled items.

#Salmonella-contaminated food typically shows no signs of spoilage but can cause illness. Symptoms, appearing 12 to 72 hours after consumption, include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever, lasting four to seven days. Severe cases may require hospitalization, particularly affecting infants, children, seniors, and those with weakened immune systems.

Anyone who has consumed the recalled products and experiences symptoms should seek medical attention and inform their doctor about the possible exposure for accurate diagnosis. Asymptomatic individuals can still spread the infection.
