FDA urges company to caution consumers about its Goat Milk formula not suitable for infants

Due to worries about possible shortcomings in meeting infant formula requirements, possible risks to safety, and insufficient nutrition for infants, the #FDA has advised #Sammy's Milk of Newport Beach, California, to exercise caution while using its toddler formula as an #infant formula. 

This warning comes after a meeting when the FDA brought up statements made on Sammy's Milk platforms that seemed to support the product's safety for infants. Sammy's Milk places a strong emphasis on the age range for which their product is appropriate, as indicated both on the product's packaging and website. The flagged product, available exclusively online with lot code SD348 and a "Best by" date of August 2025, prompts the company to advise against infant consumption. 

Its product may be unsafe for infants to consume, hence the firm advises against doing so because of the potential nutritional risks. A recall of all lots of Sammy's Milk Baby Food in 2016 over potential Cronobacter contamination—a bacteria that poses serious health concerns to infants—is being issued in remembrance of that earlier event. For clarification on appropriate product use, consumers are directed to contact Sammy's Milk customer service.

From my perspective, consumers often have to make important food decisions in the face of passionate recommendations from YouTubers who promote #goat milk as a miracle drink. Influencers eagerly promote its benefits, but caution should always prevail.  It is important to take into account the financial incentives that these fervent Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) may receive for endorsing these products. As a matter of fact, parallel import is allowed in Hong Kong, and customers can easily purchase these food products online.
