If you believe that eating organic food is always the best choice, consider the following food recall as an example. Contrary to popular belief, purchasing organic food isn't always the best option for your meals, as I have mentioned in my previous book. See here for the most current recall that the US FDA has announced.

An ongoing investigation is underway regarding a recent #E. coli O157:H7 outbreak linked to organic walnuts.

A recall of #organic walnut halves and pieces distributed by Gibson Farms Inc. in Hollister, California, has been announced by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The contaminated walnuts were offered in quantity at 19 states' natural food stores and cooperatives. More than half of those impacted have been admitted to hospitals.

It is recommended that customers throw away the recalled walnuts, and the FDA is investigating which particular shops carried the merchandise. There are already 12 verified instances in Washington and California, some of which are causing acute kidney failure and serious sickness in their patients. Gibson Farms Inc. and its distributors are working with the FDA to identify the source of contamination and any potential effects in other states.

Severe #stomach cramps, #bloody diarrhea, and #fever are signs of an E. Coli infection. #Hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) is a potentially fatal condition that affects certain people. Individuals exhibiting symptoms should seek medical attention as soon as possible.
