Lian Teng Produces Inc. is recalling Meta brand #Enoki Mushrooms in Canada due to potential #Listeria monocytogenes contamination, as identified by Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) tests. Distributed in Ontario and possibly other regions, the product should not be consumed, sold, or distributed. No illnesses have been reported so far.
Listeria infections can be severe and life-threatening, particularly for pregnant women, the elderly, young children, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms, appearing up to 70 days post-exposure, include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache, and neck stiffness. Those experiencing symptoms after consuming the recalled mushrooms should seek medical attention and inform their healthcare providers about potential Listeria exposure.
